    About The Job

    We are seeking a full-time, experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist I (9+ years of experience) to join our Pacific Northwest-based environmental compliance team. This role will provide comprehensive stormwater-focused environmental compliance services to public and private-sector clients throughout the region. The specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts to conduct fieldwork and oversee environmental documentation to support permitting and construction compliance.

Key deliverables will include stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs), construction compliance reports, water quality assessments, environmental review documentation, and permitting support. This role will also involve close coordination with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal environmental regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below): 

Technical tasks include, but are not limited to:

The selected candidate may be involved in some or all of the following tasks:

• Prepare and review stormwater compliance documentation, permitting applications, and environmental review reports for regulatory agency submittals.

•Conduct field inspections for environmental compliance, with a focus on stormwater management, erosion control, water quality, and related resources.

• Provide support in developing and implementing stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) and conducting site inspections for NPDES compliance.

• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including permittees, environmental consultants, regulatory agencies, and construction teams.

• Assist in the preparation of proposals, scopes of work, and project budgets.

• Must be willing to travel for fieldwork and project meetings.

• Other duties as needed or required.

Minimum Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, land use planning, water resources, biology, or a related field.

•    9+ years of experience in environmental compliance, stormwater management, or natural resource planning.

•    Must hold a valid Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) credential from the California Stormwater Quality Association

•    Must hold a valid Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) credential.

•    Knowledge of stormwater regulations, NPDES permitting, erosion control best practices, and NEPA compliance.

•    Ability to conduct fieldwork in various environmental conditions and terrains throughout the Pacific Northwest.

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

•    Valid driver’s license and active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment.

  • As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Stormwater construction monitoring experience.

• Experience with stormwater regulations and permitting requirements in the Pacific Northwest.

• Knowledge of state and federal land use and environmental permitting processes for public and private infrastructure projects.

• Experience working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on waters permitting applications, jurisdictional determinations, and wetland delineations.

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.

  • This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

  • This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.

    Proposed Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000 annually*

    *Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
