Job Title: Carpenter Foreman

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter Foreman to oversee and perform a variety of carpentry tasks on assigned projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong in light-commercial and commercial projects, with a focus on safety and proficiency in both rough and finish carpentry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide self-perform services on assigned projects, including selective demolition, progress clean-up, and final cleaning assistance.

  • Perform rough carpentry tasks such as rough framing and wall layout.

  • Carry out finish carpentry tasks including crown molding and casework installation.

  • Install commercial doors and hardware.

  • Complete drywall patching, finishing, and painting.

  • Perform miscellaneous flooring and vinyl base patching.

  • Install specialties and suspended ceiling grid/tile (ACT).

  • Quantify, order, and track materials required for project-specific duties, returning unused materials when possible or storing them for future use.

  • Quantify, order, and track company-owned and/or rental equipment for project-specific duties, ensuring the return of unused equipment to off-site storage when appropriate.

  • Review and understand the contract scope-of-work for each assigned project, reporting change orders in real-time to the assigned Project Manager.

  • Review project self-perform budgets with the assigned Project Manager and/or Superintendent, tracking self-perform labor against the project budget in real-time throughout each project.

  • Review and understand the project schedule for each assigned project.

  • Assist in the procurement of project-specific building permits when necessary.

Essential Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of carpentry experience on light-commercial and commercial projects.

  • Safety-First mentality, with OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred), Forklift Certification, and Scaffold Certification.

  • Proficient in reading and understanding project plans, specifications, and shop drawings.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPFP) systems.

  • Excellent organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient problem-solving skills.

  • Self-starting leader of on-site self-perform crews and subcontracted vendors.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to provide service on project sites across the Upper Midwest.

Work Environment

The work environment includes commercial, industrial, and municipal settings, ranging from small to mid-sized special projects to larger new builds. You will be part of a smaller team of field employees, working independently or within crews of 2-5 individuals depending on project needs. The physical demands of this position include exposure to various weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, dust, asphalt, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, vibration, and high noise levels. Regularly required activities include walking, climbing stairs, sitting, standing, talking, hearing, seeing with close and distant vision, reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers to operate tools, and lifting/moving up to 75 lbs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
