Pressley Ridge Grant Gardens, in Ona, WV, is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional nursing care in residential and educational settings. The registered nurse utilizes Comprehensive Nursing Assessments which identify the child’s physical, emotional and behavioral needs and which are developmentally appropriate.

Service Delivery

  • Functions as the primary health educator to students

  • Functions as liaison with non Pressley Ridge health care providers, including primary care, specialists, and mental health providers.

  • Supervises procedures for medication administration.

  • Provides nursing care based on needs.

  • Initiates referrals where necessary for routine physical examinations, dental examinations, immunizations. Provides screening tests as needed.

  • Assists with the review and completion of medication administration records.

  • Implements physician orders.

  • Provides in-service/training as required

  • Functions as a Licensed Professional by conducting face-to-face assessments and evaluations

  • Creates and reviews standard practice for standing orders for minor illness and for OTC medications.

  • Participates with staff psychiatrist to assess plan, implement, and evaluate medical interventions.

NOTE: Lifting and transporting patients isn't a part of the residential nurse role.

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Associates or better in Nursing

Preferred

  • Bachelors or better in Nursing

Licenses & Certifications

Required

  • RN

Experience

Required

  • Completed an approved pharmacology course

  • 1 year: Nursing experience

  • Current CPR card

Preferred

  • Behavioral health setting serving children and/or adolescents preferred.
