Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Analyst in the Energy Trading industry. This role is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and will involve working closely with various tax compliance and accounting requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Compile and analyze general ledger and sales activity to prepare supporting workpapers and documentation for various indirect taxes

• Prepare and file tax returns on a regular basis

• Conduct research on the tax treatment of transactions or potential transactions

• Respond to and address notices from State tax authorities

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions, including auditing and budget processes

• Manage accounts payable and ensure timely and accurate payment processing

• Use Excel formulas to streamline and improve accounting processes

• Leverage knowledge of sales tax regulations to ensure compliance in all transactions

• Work with urgency and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

• Use critical thinking and decision-making skills to solve problems and make informed decisions. Requirements • Proficiency in accounting functions and principles

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) procedures

• Knowledge of auditing practices

• Familiarity with budget processes

• Understanding of sales tax regulations

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and advanced Excel formulas

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Relevant certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) will be considered an advantage

• Previous experience in the energy trading industry is a plus.
