Senior Mainframe Application Advisor

What does a successful Senior Mainframe Application Advisor do at Fiserv?

Being laser-focused on go-to-market solutions for Optis, our large-scale Issuer Solutions processing environment, you'll drive the technical roadmap, design, and solution architecture. With deep mainframe expertise, you'll work through complex problems to define solutions and help clients of leading financial institutions and internal partners to envision, design, and build innovative products and technology solutions.

What you will do:

• Help lead the delivery of complex solutions encompassing multiple products and services, involving a clear strategy for product integration

• Advise senior management of product development on the enterprise-level technology roadmap strategy and assist with technology aspects of business guidance, consultative direction, and knowledge development

• Develop client-facing conceptual solutions while owning the corresponding technology design specifications and system-related information

• Maintain and develop a detailed level of knowledge on company solutions, products, and services

• Engage with development teams and other partners, while guiding junior developers, to ensure long-term success

• Apply analytical skills to address corporate strategy, understand technology specifics, and understand business operations

What you will need to have:

• 15+ years of experience in large-scale IT system development, including current experience in software designing, writing, debugging, and testing

• 10+ years of mainframe technology experience with MVS, CICS, Cobol, JCL, and MQ

• Experience with a financial payments processing platform

• Experience in business analysis and identifying solutions and connections between layers of business operations

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, work, and military experience

What would be great to have:

• Experience with the Optis platform or similar platform

• Experience with the Eclipse Memory Analyzer Tool(MAT) with IBM extensions

• Experience with DB2 and RDBMS

• Experience with Java or similar OOP programming
