Geotechnical Designer - DUTIES: -

Utilize geotechnical engineering knowledge under the direction of an experienced geotechnical engineer to complete technical engineering assignments in support of the organizations corporation business. This involve understanding of the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) standard testing and soil classifications including, but not limited to at least 3 the following: sieve analysis and gradations, Proctor tests, Atterberg Limits, Consolidation Tests, Triaxial, and Direct Shear tests; working with one more design software(s): GeoStudio, LPILE, GROUP, MSEW, Plaxis or other FEM software, Shoring Suite, AutoCAD, or Civil3D; Soil Mechanics, Seismic Engineering, Shallow and Deep Foundation Design, Slope Stability, and Ground Improvement; and presenting (verbal and written) on geotechnical topics including soil stabilization, slope stability, shallow foundations, and deep foundations. Additionally, will provide project support during the proposal/bid phase. Work with team members to complete engineering analyses in support of innovative and cost-effective design solutions to geotechnical problems and challenges. Work on design-build projects, including developing design recommendations, and producing design deliverables. Perform and oversee subsurface investigations, field testing, and construction oversight; producing engineering reports, drawings, and detailed calculation packages. Domestic travel required at least 10%-20% of the time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field, and any experience, knowledge, or coursework to involve: (1) understanding American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) standard testing and soil classifications including, but not limited to at least 3 the following: sieve analysis and gradations, Proctor tests, Atterberg Limits, Consolidation Tests, Triaxial, and Direct Shear tests; (2) at least 2 of more of the following design software(s): GeoStudio, LPILE, GROUP, MSEW, Plaxis or other FEM software, Shoring Suite, AutoCAD, or Civil3D; (3) Soil Mechanics, Seismic Engineering, Shallow and Deep Foundation Design, Slope Stability, and Ground Improvement; and (4) presenting (verbal and written) on geotechnical topics including soil stabilization, slope stability, shallow foundations, and deep foundations.
