Responsibilities

What you will do:
Performs electrocardiogram tests and understands fundamentals of good technique
Corroborates clinical history and assesses patient for appropriateness of ordered procedure
Provides patient education, applies patient relations skills and maintain confidentiality of patients and customers in a safe and professional manner
Assumes responsibility for assigned area, reporting equipment malfunctions and procedure difficulties
Is responsible for completing quarterly mandatory education requirements
Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development through participation in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education programs
Performs value-added activities that result in positive customer satisfaction and/or financial performance
Participates in Quality Improvement initiatives as assigned
Participates in all safety, security, and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department
All team members are responsible for maintaining a positive work environment and participating in departmental problem-solving
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certification
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Requires basic technical knowledge and computer skills for procedure completion and report reconciliation
Preferred Qualifications
Basic computer and clerical skills
Proper patient preparation and lead placement for ECG’s, holter monitors, and event recorders
Proper use of each type of equipment for the above procedures and the ECG reporting system
Basic cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
Ability to transport equipment to various areas in the hospital and assist patients on and off exam table
Pay Range
$15.49 - $21.30 /hour
