Aerotek Diesel Mechanic in Omaha, Nebraska

Diesel Mechanic - up to $40/hour depending on experience!

Job Description

Seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform repairs and service on Semi Trucks, Pickup Trucks, Industrial Grade Air Compressors, Trailers, Pickup Trucks, and Forklifts. The work will be primarily performed at the shop, with occasional fieldwork required for on-site repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and service on Semi Trucks, Pickup Trucks, Industrial Grade Air Compressors, Trailers, and Forklifts.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to execute necessary repairs.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections on a variety of vehicles and equipment.

  • Utilize electrical and mechanical skills to repair diesel engines, transmissions, and heavy equipment.

  • Drive company vehicles to job sites when on-site service is necessary.

  • Perform welding and DOT inspections.

  • Clearly define and communicate the parts required for repairs.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing Diesel Mechanic repairs on Semi Trucks, Air Compressors, Trailers, Pickup Trucks, and Forklifts.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues.

  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and inspections.

  • Skilled in hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines.

  • Must possess own basic hand and power tools.

  • Ability to drive a company vehicle for on-site repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with fleet maintenance and repair.

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.

  • Welding skills and DOT inspection experience.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a shop located in North Omaha, with both outdoor and indoor facilities. The yard is composed of rock and some concrete, housing large pipes, pumps, trucks, trailers, and forklifts. The office has been remodeled and is in good condition, providing a comfortable working environment.
