Express Employment IT System Admin – Projects & Deployments in Olympia, Washington
Express is now hiring for a IT System Admin at a local company based out of Olympia, WA. This is a temporary opportunity expected to last roughly 3 months, however it also has the opportunity to become permanent for someone who excels in the position. The schedule will be Monday-Friday from 8AM-5PM. Approximately 40% of your time will be spent in the office and 60% of the time will be spent in the field. The compensation for this position will be $36/hr.
*Job Duties: *As a System Admin, you will play a critical Level 2 role in providing direct support to our valued customers while supporting and guiding the Level 1 Helpdesk employees. You will be responsible for onboarding new customers and deploying new systems, delivering high-quality customer service, and ensuring that the Helpdesk can take over new accounts to meet customer expectations on day-to-day maintenance/support issues.
- Customer Success:
- Serve as the primary for customer projects: these typically include migrations, consulting, and optimizations.
- Serve as the primary for deployments: these typically include new networking hardware, IP phone systems, and servers/PC workstations.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, or other communication channels, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Provide accurate and timely updates to customers on the status of their reported issues, ensuring transparency and managing expectations.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Network Engineers and Helpdesk, to resolve complex network problems and provide comprehensive solutions.
2. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and issue resolutions.
Analyze Helpdesk data to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement, and propose actionable recommendations to enhance service quality.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong technical knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and methodologies.
- Experience providing direct customer support in a professional IT environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role, preferably in a Helpdesk or customer support setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, etc.) are desirable.
- Pass criminal background check
Must have WA State Driver's License and Proof of Insurance
