Wild Grief Executive Director (nonprofit) in Olympia, Washington
Job Purpose:Meets community needs by planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating therapeutic counseling programs, and developing agency personnel.Duties: * Identifies actual and anticipated community service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients and other persons in a position to understand the needs of the community. * Addresses changing community and professional trends by inaugurating service programs. * Maintains and develops staff by supervising, directly and through delegating, all personnel, including hiring, transferring, promoting, demoting, disciplining, counseling, coaching, appraising job results, and terminating, as well as providing educational and experiential growth opportunities and morale-maintaining consideration. * Plans for and protects the physical and financial resources of the agency by inspecting and maintaining facilities; budgeting and controlling expenses; auditing practices; initiating and participating in fundraising activities, including submitting grant proposals. * Maintains agency operations by formulating and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. * Maintains the stability and reputation of the agency by complying with, and influencing the development of, legal and accreditation requirements. * Maintains agency credibility by working with the executives and staffs of funding agencies, other sponsoring groups, and related service agencies. * Promotes positive agency image by ensuring an understanding in the community of program services available; publicizing accomplishments of the agency; adhering to a professional code of ethics. * Contributes to the board's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues to be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to the board's deliberations, recommending options and courses of action, especially where professional considerations are involved; implementing directives; recruiting board candidates. * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needSkills/Qualifications:Developing Budgets, Coaching, Analyzing Information , Informing Others, Listening, Client Relationships, Meeting Management, Organizational Astuteness, Developing Standards, Community Outreach, Process Improvement
