What Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning.
The Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain.
Job Summary
The Consultant, Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing assists management in identifying and prioritizing multiple projects. They will also be expected to lead small inter-departmental groups to help the Inventory Management team surpass goals and improve processes.
Responsibilities
Utilizes influencing, communication, and collaborative skills to partner with all internal customers, repackagers, and external supplier partners to ensure timely delivery of products to assigned distribution centers and the efficiency of our supply chain.
Supports the team in meeting goals for Service Level, Days of Inventory on hand, purchase order expediting, and others as established by the management team.
Collaborates with others and builds strategic alliances globally; negotiates to build broad-based support and/or persuades others to influence important outcomes.
Possesses technical skills around purchasing systems and reporting tools (Tableau, MS Excel).
Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate Excel data.
Runs and analyzes data from multiple data sources to understand the root cause of a problem or low metric and to have quality discussions with supplier partners.
Manages databases, gathers data prepared by demand analysts, evaluates data, and develops action plans to correct product supply.
Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions and services.
Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of protocols, programs or deliverables.
Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
3-5 years of project management and inventory/end to end Supply Chain concepts experience preferred
Experience with purchasing, planning, and reporting tools preferred (DFIO, SCORE, SAP, Alteryx, etc.)
Lean knowledge and Operational Excellence project creation and/or participation experience preferred
Strong analytical skills, proven ability to analyze data trends with the use of reporting tools and initiate action from findings preferred
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and high accountability
Identify and drive improvements using root cause problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to build rapport, understanding, and trust with all key stakeholders which translates into a reputable S&OP function
Effective with technical and nontechnical communications and audiences, active listening, and ability to adapt one’s style

Anticipated salary range: $66,500 - $93,500
