Job Description:
The Quality Project Delivery team is growing and looking for it's next strong program manager.
This is a remote position and can be filled in any location.
In this role you will manage all aspects of facilities, materials, environmental, or geotechnical engineering projects within a National Account program(s) to ensure that they are safely completed on time and within scope and budget with a dedicated focus on quality management and delivery. Responsible for completing projects per contracted scope; monitor progress and performance against project plans. Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Work directly, either remotely or on-site, with local project operations to execute and deliver projects successfully. May be responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and working with external vendors, subcontractors or contractors. Conducts meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of projects to project teams and clients. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project and/or program targets and milestones. May have responsibilities to communicate with clients and deliver work products to satisfaction of client. Coordinates effort with operational leadership and project APRs to ensure they are engaged throughout the project, particularly at critical junctures. Is involved with approving invoices, preparing change orders, and collections.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing large scale projects or National Account Programs comprised of multiple individual projects each with designed project managers.
Works with clients to define project scope, scale, schedule and budget in addition to determining how best to manage the project or program to meet the client’s needs.
Leads interactions with client, stakeholders and project managers to ensure the program and/or projects, or aspects of projects, are coordinated, managed and delivered to meet the needs of the client and stakeholders.
Design, communicate, implement and execute project/program management plans including schedules for completing projects, as well as quality and project delivery plans for National Account Programs and projects.
Leads safety efforts for programs and projects including preparation and compliance with approved safety plan.
Work with local operations to resolve operational problems and concerns across multiple project interfaces.
Identify, develop, and gather key resources to lead the individual projects.
Oversees the preparation, design and development of work specifications; develop schedules, cash flow, budgets and forecasts; select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors.
Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete.
Prepares forecasts for expenditures and manages scope, and schedule to meet budget
Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to ensure targets are met.
Works with the NAM and/or operational leadership with responsibility for mega project and program profit and loss.
Partner with project managers to work with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources for project(s).
Conduct project/program meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project(s) within and beyond the project or client team.
Supports the NAM with, and/or directs the efforts of the largest projects and client pursuits including strategy and facilitation.
Coach and mentor project managers and assist them to solve problems.
Coordinates with the quality team to ensure appropriate oversight is in place and sufficient time allowed for quality reviews.
Coordinates with lead project accountant for the financial management of business intelligence, invoicing and collections.
Manage risk related to projects. Ensure contracts are signed and fully executed prior to commencing work. Monitor adherence to corporate risk policies and practices. Hold Managers accountable for mitigating or eliminating risk.
Communicates safety initiatives, rules and guidelines for Office or Region. Holds Managers and Employees accountable for following safety rules and guidelines.
Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Ensure best practices are being followed and hold Managers accountable for quality control standards.
Perform project quality assurance audits on projects and mentor, train, address and correct accordingly with local operations and project teams.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practices by the Firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology and a minimum of 15 years’ related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 19 years’ related experience.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Ability to travel to offices and project sites multiple times within a calendar year.
Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer certification.
Preferred Certification:
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG) or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the type of services and projects being managed
This position has been categorized as a "Remote Only" position. “Remote Only” employees do not have a designated workspace at an office, and typically work from home or another location.
The national standard salary range for this position is $103,500-$160,400. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
