ASRC Federal Holding Company Windows System Administrator (Computer Scientist 2) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the FAA NAS ESS (Federal Aviation Administration National Airspace System Engineering Support Services) contract. Join our growing team as a computer scientist in support of the FAA’s Voice Recorder Team, supporting Digital Audio Legal Recorder (DALR) Remote Audio Access System (DRAAS) and National Airspace System (NAS) Voice Recorder (NVR) System.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer Windows version control and updates.

  • Recommend Improvements for various Windows applications and best practices.

  • Review monthly Windows Updates for DRAAS and NVR systems.

  • Resolve issues with Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) for DRAAS and NVR systems.

  • Resolve issues with Windows Domains across 475 network-connected NVR systems – each with an independent domain.

  • Resolve issues with Windows Domains across 475 stand-alone NVR systems – each with an independent domain.

  • Identify and resolve issues with Windows Firewall.

  • Identify and troubleshoot Windows process launch issues.

  • Investigate potential security issues using Windows Event Logs.

  • Develop updates to group policy to comply with external security requirements.

  • Test and implement best practices migration from one Windows Server version to another for the DRAAS system and for 950 NVR systems.

  • Test and implement best practices migration from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on thousands of NVR workstations.

  • Administer Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps.

Requirements :

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years .

  • Minimum of 3 Years of Windows System and Domain Administration experience

  • Experience in developing PowerShell scripts to help in administrating Windows systems

  • At least one migration from one Windows Server version and Windows box version to another

  • Familiar with cloud-based architecture and management

  • Familiar with cybersecurity compliance

  • Minimum of 1 Year of administration of Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps for handing source control, requirements, test plans and test reports (preferred)

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the importance of testing during all phases of the software development process.

  • Proficiency with computer operating systems, software and hardware with proven ability to debug complex systems and to conduct reviews, audits, and testing.

  • Working knowledge of UNIX and UNIX-like Operating Systems (AIX, Linux)
