Essential Job Functions:
Promote safety in all actions.
Performs monthly balance sheet account analyses and assures all account reconciliations are performed in timely and accurate matter
Performs analyses and review of various general ledger expense accounts.
Books necessary journal entries on a monthly basis.
Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
Assists in the completion of the month-end and year-end closing process.
Coordinate audits by various governmental agencies.
Coordinate audits by insurance companies.
Work closely with outside auditors which include preparing multiple schedules and analyses
Coordinate fuel tax reporting with 3rdparty fuel tax provider.
Prepare all tax reports (property, franchise, etc.) except for annual 1120 reporting.
Prepare monthly and quarterly transporter reports.
Assist with AP duties such as entering and coding invoices into accounting software, match invoices to PO’s and research any issues, assist vendors with their accounts, and research old invoices off of statements.
Manage company-owned fuel inventory, including updates on pricing
Manage company fuel card program and work with vendor to monitor fraud
Prepare and/or approve ACH and wire payment transactions
Record cash transaction and reconcile cash accounts monthly
Additional Responsibilities:
Carries out duties assigned by Controller as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications for Consideration:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years hands-on accounting experience.
Great Plains accounting software experience highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge.
Display good oral and written communication skills.
Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans.
Self-starter with detail oriented work habits.
Able to maintain confidentiality.
Display professional demeanor.
Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individuals.
Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules.
Basic computer skills to include spreadsheet proficient.
Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, and talking, hearing and visual activity.
Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds).
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copier/printer/scanners.
