Position: Commercial Construction Project Manager/Estimator

Job Summary: Provide overall management direction for construction projects from corporate office. Cultivate new projects through interactions with project owners and architects. Ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in estimating cost of changes in the project scope of work and new projects that may be assigned.

  • Establish budgets, draft subcontracts and purchase orders. Coordinate all contract requirements for a successfully-awarded project.

  • Monitor construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget, investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.

  • Directly supervise Project Superintendent or Foreman.

  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billings, change orders, fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years construction management experience, with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, engineering, cost control, schedules and safety required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret trade journals, technical documents and equipment manuals, and production reports; ability to write reports and correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and concerns.

  • Basic math, including percentages and ratios: basic algebra and statistics; graphing and spreadsheet skills.

  • Proficient with Procore project management software, Word, Excel and Bluebeam.

  • OSHA 30 Certification

Education:

  • Requires BA/BS in construction engineering/management or business. Equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience may substitute for degree requirement.
