About the team (Oracle Utilities Innovation Lab)

Oracle Industries Innovation Lab (Oracle IIL) is a hands-on space that allows multiple global business units within Oracle, including Oracle Energy and Water, Construction and Engineering, Manufacturing, and Communications to inspire, collaborate, innovate, and explore new ideas with customers. Our team works on utility-related solutions in this lab. Our team works closely with product & delivery teams to bring new concepts, prototypes & ideas to life through co-innovation with our partners & customers.

We’re a small team with large, high-profile responsibilities. We are passionate about trying out new ideas, and taking on new challenges and showcasing our innovations to the industry. About the job

We are seeking an experienced software engineer that has a perfect blend of deep hands-on technical experience and trouble shooting skills along with architect style strategic vision to lead a matrixed team through a complex project. Ideal candidate will have a strong appetite to learn new technology, eagerness to tinker with new tools, a curious mind to troubleshoot and fix things that are broken, and ability to foster collaboration across remote teams.

What you’ll make happen:

  • Learn new things! We have a CUTTING EDGE technical stack and you will work with AI services like vision/speech/language, with AR/VR, autonomous robots, new customer interfaces and lot more.

  • Troubleshoot and collaborate with support and engineering teams to resolve issues.

  • Lead high-visibility hands-on projects from concept through delivery.

  • Get up to speed on solutions across the Oracle Energy & Water and Construction & business and Oracle OCI technologies.

  • Establish relationships with product management, engineering, support, presales and marketing teams.

  • Be accountable and responsible for leading the project to completion by wearing multiple hats.

  • Work closely with enablement teams to train presales on any new demos created.

You have a track record of:

  • Engineering solutions using full stack – front to back, small micro controllers to large enterprise systems.

  • Working with highly configurable software toolkits and designing features to allow just the right amount of flexibility for our clients and consultants.

  • Playing different roles based on the project needs from hands-on developer to a support engineer or a scrum master.

  • Working with distributed remote teams both internal engineering and external partner/client teams.

Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience with full stack web development

  • 6+ years experience with javascript and related frameworks like node, oracle jet or similar.

  • 6+ years of experience with a programming language like Java, Python or C#

  • 6+ years of working with APIs (both Soap & REST)

  • 1+ years familiarity with AI/ML tools and methodologies.

  • Extensive hands on experience developing, debugging & trouble shooting on Linux, Mac or Windows

  • Experience with leading multiple projects that involve complex integrations

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, or similar

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $178,700 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
