POSITION SUMMARY: Design, create, certify, modify and make improvements to existing products. May evaluate components, assemblies and process for design, cost efficiency and reliability for equipment used in well site services. Manager all design, manufacture, certification, and usage of all equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain processes and procedures necessary for API 6A and ISO 9001.

  • Create new drawings or update existing drawings for creation of products or components

  • Perform full design analyses on new and existing products

  • Fulfill requests by retrieving drawings needed for manufacturing of parts

  • Assists with establishing policies and procedures within the Engineering group

  • Design and create certified prints for both non-patented and patentable equipment, and modify existing equipment as needed.

  • Certify all new and existing equipment.

  • Interact with manufacturing personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues or improvements.

  • Address any quality control issues within the districts and do a follow up.

  • Review all required documents, including MTR’s, on all equipment and verify those documents are received at the district.

  • Assist with corrective actions on any equipment incident reports for certified equipment.

  • Manage the OSES torque and drag program.

  • Responsible for assuring proper operation, maintenance, applications and documentation of engineering designs and products.

  • Maintains open line of communications with management before, during and after project completion.

  • Train and assist co-workers as required.

  • Lead and supervise all assigned special projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Must possess basic computer skills utilizing various programs in the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as computer aided drafting software Solid Works/AutoCAD.

  • Competency using Solid Works for 3D modeling.

  • Ability to create engineering print/2D drawings per ANSI/ASME Y14.5.

  • Understanding of material selection and fabrication processes.

  • 3+ years of 3D modeling experience (Solid Works preferred).

  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) software.

  • Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time.

  • Must maintain a safe driving record as required by company policy.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Advanced math skills required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in engineering required; Mechanical, Design or Industrial engineering preferred.

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in oil field work or related field.

  • 2 years of design experience with wellhead or isolation tool design a plus

  • 1 year experience CAD and modeling experience a plus (SolidWorksTM and AutoCADTM preferred)

  • Familiarity with geometric tolerancing (GD&T), ASME Y14.5 a plus

  • Knowledge of API 6A and ISO Standards
