Your Future Role

  • Senior level Electrical Engineer responsible for the design and development of new AC induction motor designs up to 28,000 HP and manufactured for the North American market

  • Candidates to have both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering design knowledge of the product with a strong focus on Electrical Engineering

  • The position will report to the Product Development & Innovation Manager within the Innomotics High Voltage Motor business.

Responsibilities

  • Crafts electrical designs for new product families

  • Serves as lead electrical consultant for Development and Product Engineering and provides high level technical support to the supporting manufacturing groups as required

  • Provides close collaboration with Motor HQ in Germany to build product that meets global requirements

  • Participates in applicable NEMA and IEC motor standards

  • Supports technical publications and conferences critical to the Innomotics HV motor business (e.g., PCIC, IEEE publications, Pulp and paper, etc.)

  • Answers requests on technical details and coordinates solutions of issues

  • Provides high level technical support and Engineering consultation for customer service cases as required. Support would include (but is not limited to) root cause analysis of stator failures, temperature rise failures, and excessive noise, etc.

  • Continuously enhances or improves existing Engineering standards, processes, or methods to streamline and modernize Engineering function

  • Provides specialized technical mentorship or training to professional staff. Demonstrates leadership skills and role model qualities encouraged from a senior level professional

Your Profile

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

  • 5+ years successful Engineering experience in Product Engineering or R&D

  • 5%-10% potential travel both domestic and international

  • Sophisticated knowledge of Induction motor theory and design

  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues

  • Ability to lead and coordinate small groups of technical specialists and provide direction as needed

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education & Experience

  • Technical experience in electric motor manufacturing or large rotating equipment

  • Knowledge of large electrical motor design and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of VFD applications, insulation design, power systems, control design, air flow and heat transfer

The pay range for this position is $97,500 - $167,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
