Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Data Engineer with hands-on experience in designing, building, and scaling data platforms and products using modern cloud technologies. This role requires an individual with expertise in full-stack python development, cloud data platforms (e.g, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks) and knowledge of modern data modeling and storage formats (e.g., Parquet, Iceberg, JSON, SQL, and others).
The ideal candidate will also have experience in AI and Generative AI frameworks and technologies, supporting the data requirements for advanced ML and Generative AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy high-performance Python-based data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Implement data processing solutions with batch, real-time, and event-driven data processing frameworks.
Enforce data integrity, lineage, and observability by developing resilient and maintainable code.
Adopt and implement modern data architecture principles (e.g., data mesh, knowledge graphs, and ontologies).
Partner with data scientists, Generative AI engineers, and ML engineers to deploy AI-ready datasets.
Work in Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to code reviews, documentation, and DevOps processes.
Participate in agile development processes, using tools like Git and Jira to manage workflows and sprints.
Ensure the security and compliance of data products through the implementation of appropriate controls.
Professional Skills Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of experience in Python and modern data engineering solutions.
Core Python skills: Proficiency in Python programming language (asyncio, multiprocessing, OOP, functional programming); including experience with Python data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, PyArrow, Dask) and a proven ability to write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
Modern Data Engineering skills: Proficiency in building data-ingestion and data-processing/curation frameworks; including batch, streaming, and event-driven data pipelines (e.g., using Spark, Kafka, Flink, DBT, and other modern ETL/ETL tools and frameworks)
Minimum 7 years of experience launching cloud data products on AWS (Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Athena), GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow), Snowflake, Databricks, and/or Azure (Fabric, Data Factory).
Minimum 5 years of knowledge of modern data architectures (data mesh, knowledge graph, and ontology principles).
Minimum 5 years of industry experience in Financial Services or Resources Client Group (Energy, Utilities, Chemicals & Natural Resources) or Communication Media and Technology (CMT) or Healthcare and Public Services or products
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills
Experience working with LLMs, vector databases, tokenization, and embeddings.
Familiarity with MLOps tools and workflows such as MLFlow, Kubeflow, or Airflow.
Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
Experience with building data products for specific industries such as healthcare, retail, finance, etc.
Industry-Specific Use Cases: Experience with Generative AI use cases for specific industries such as healthcare, retail, finance, high tech, energy, etc.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, using tools like Git, Jira, and agile methodologies.
Ability to stay updated with the latest advancements in data engineering, AI, and Generative AI technologies and apply them to practical use cases.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
