John Bean Technologies Corporation seeks an Engineering Manager in Columbus, OH, to manage workload for order processing and sustain engineering resources. Sustain engineering support for model line maintenance, and execution of VAVE/cost projects. Establish priorities for team members (design and sales engineers), determine and monitor project timelines, and report project status to external departments. Maintain project status dashboards. Manage and drive improvement on Level 3 department metrics around safety, quality, delivery, and cost and lead Level 3 daily meetings. Escalating any issues discovered in Level 3 to appropriate parties. Conduct producibility reviews for all equipment orders. Responsible for Engineering Approval Package Review, BOM/Drawing verification Project and Equipment Risk Assessment, and providing final design reviews. Verify impact of any open ECR’s, verify designs comply with JBT Standards, and create Equipment Quality Control Requirements. Serve as the point of contact for manufacturing and assembly during equipment builds. Drive cross-functional communication to support project execution with process partners (electrical controls group, R&D, operations, purchasing, logistics, & project management). Implement design changes and improvements, maintain a software library, history, revisions, and functional specifications. Oversee the creation of documentation including manuals, procedures, and certificates. Train, monitor, and coach team members to improve skill level. Ensure adherence to design principles and JBT standards. Facilitate communication and problem resolution and provide feedback, both positive and corrective within the team and provide continuous feedback to employees concerning performance, set clear objectives (both short and long term) and complete annual written appraisals. Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field and 5 years of experience in the following: applying expert understanding of engineering design standards in the food processing industry, design and manufacture of stainless-steel food processing equipment, sanitary design practices, including managing new equipment projects exceeding 15 million of annual revenue, product and project risk assessments, and implementing and maintaining operational and quality standards. 5 years providing sustaining engineering to support customer care parts exceeding 15 million of annual revenue. 5 years management experience of 5 or more engineers, ranging from degreed, non-degreed, domestic remote and international remote staff members. 3 years’ experience with Solidworks, 3D CAD program. 2 years’ experience with project management tools, such as Microsoft Projects and/or Smartsheets. 1 years’ experience with Navision Microsoft ERP system and ECR system management and Microsoft Office Suite.
