Overview:

Position Title : Electrical Test Technician I

Business Title : Advanced Testing Laboratory

Location : Ethicon

Reports to : Supervisor

FLSA : Hourly

Hours Worked : Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute experimental R&D projects in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, safety restrictions and environmental practices.

  • Support the day-to-day electrical needs of the product teams to include soldering, bread boarding, and fabrication of various electronic circuits and mechanical prototypes in support of the business objective.

  • Interpret mechanical/electrical schematics and component functions to maintain consistent wiring colors and schemes for future replication.

  • Troubleshooting and repair of electrical circuits and electro-mechanical assemblies.

  • Repair and rework printed circuit boards and communications wiring.

  • Develop and document new procedures and assist with writing test plans.

  • Other Duties as assigned

Skills & Proficiencies:

  • Associates degree in STEM or Electrical background or 2+ years relevant experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communicationwith the ability to share out to technical and non-technical audiences to understand problems andto relay findings to operators, engineers, and inspectors.

  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, as it relates to analog or digital electronics and electrical engineering concepts.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Must possess strong ability to work well under pressure meeting deadlines in an ever-changing environment.

  • Knowledge and experience in the use of common hand tools, electronic and physical measuring devices, test instrumentation.

  • Detail-oriented and great organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in STEM or Electrical background or 2+ years relevant experience

  • 4+ years of relevant experience as a Test Engineer / Technician

  • 4+ years of experience with microprocessors, PCBA design and electronic component selection.

  • 2+ years’ experience with electrical testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, data loggers, impedance analyzers and vector signal analyzers.

  • Detailed fine pitch soldering and component level troubleshooting.

  • Prior experience with LabView testing software

  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry

Physical and Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, and be on their feet 8 hours a day.
