JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the general guidance of Ice Sheet Event Managers, Part Time Zamboni Drivers will perform a variety of ice and building repair work including, but not limited to: ice surface maintenance, building repair and maintenance, set up and cleanup of all ice arena event operations that may also include customer service & managing event staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Employees will assist managers in: preparing for events throughout the rink in many functions such as repairing faucets, unclogging drains, repairing pipes, basic carpentry, installing or repairing wiring systems, light fixtures, outlets, bulbs and performing other electrical work.
Provide customer service, maintain the cleanliness of work areas, and assist in set up and cleanup of the rink for each event which may include replacing rink glass, setting up and taking down tables and chairs and providing snow removal around exterior of building.
All part-time positions require a general knowledge of janitorial processes and functions and require each team member to perform janitorial duties each shift.

EXPERIENCE:
Required Experience: Equipment maintenance, working knowledge of general fixture repairs, driving a Zamboni, and sharpening skates.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
Knowledge of: General knowledge of janitorial processes and functions. This position requires each team member to perform janitorial duties each shift.
Skills and Abilities to: Proficient communication skills, critical thinking skills, time management, task completion, willingness to be a team player and take direction from managers, ability to lift heavy boxes, and ability to perform janitorial duties as assigned is required. Excellent customer service skills, using verbal and written communication with general public and user groups are required.
All part-time positions will be provided "On the Job" training for general Ice Sheet functions including driving a Zamboni and sharpening skates.
YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
All part-time employees are required to work nights, weekends, including Sundays and some holidays up to 19 hours per week. Zamboni driving schedule based on ice schedule and game and tournament ice needs.
Must have current Driver License.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment background check prior to starting the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to see, climb, sit on and drive Zamboni, stand at skate sharpener machine and sharpen skates, hear, speak, write, fill out paperwork and reports, use hands, fingers, both arms, both feet, stand, kneel, walk up and down stairs in a quick manner and walk on ice. The employee must also frequently lift 25-50 pounds, as well as encounter flying pucks and sharp objects such as skate blades. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
