Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Plant Manager, the Plant Operator will engage in operating and maintaining the asphalt facility equipment and records. Inquiring candidates should be eager to work and open to learning the trade skills of unloading, loading, producing, and testing different asphalt grades . No experience is required, although a plus. As a full-time employee, you will be eligible to participate in the employee benefits program.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Gather samples of elevated-temperature materials (primarily asphalt)
- Use tools
- Operate a forklift, tractor, or man-lift
- Visually gauge tanks to verify automatic systems
- Provide general plant cleanings
- Perform maintenance tasks and mechanical duties (pumps, valves, oil checks, etc.)
- Open and close valves for production
- Load and unload trucks and railcars
- Complete paperwork involving basic math skills

Education and/or Experience
- No experience required, although construction knowledge a plus.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred.

- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.

- Basic Math
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Computer Skills
- None
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Standard Driver's License is required.

- Knowledge of Fork List and Skid Steer operation
