Intermountain Health Imaging Clerk in Ogden, Utah

Job Description:

This position is responsible for ensuring customers of imaging services are greeted and assisted in a timely manner and is responsible for providing support services for all of the various imaging modalities. The incumbent will perform a variety of clerical duties including: helping manage patient flow through the department, answering telephones, exam order entry, image check out, calling of reports, assisting radiologists/ technologists and ensuring medical necessity.

Job Essentials

  • Welcomes patients/families helping them feel safe, at ease, and well informed. Assists patients ensuring all needs are met related to imaging services offered and manages patient flow. Provides excellent customer service and appropriately handles difficult situations.

  • Answers telephone inquiries and directs patients/families to appropriate resource.

  • Accurately transposes relevant information and schedules and orders exams regarding imaging services online.

  • Effectively uses RIS system and electronic resources to generate reports and support office.

  • Maintains an accurate file system. Creates, retrieves, and updates files where appropriate.

  • Coordinates the needs of technologists, radiologists, physicians, patients, and staff.

  • Verifies positive patient identification and ensures that an order is present.

Shift Details

  • PRN Shift (on call, as needed)

  • 10hr shifts

  • Day shift. Some Saturdays will be required. No holidays.

  • Needed for 1-2 shifts per week.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of office or customer service experience.

  • Demonstrated experience using word processing and spreadsheets.

  • Experience working as part of a team including verbal and written communication.

  • Experience in problem solving and conflict resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical terminology.

  • Coding experience.

  • Bi-Lingual

Physical Requirements:

Hearing/Listening, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Sitting, Speaking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$16.83 - $21.88
