Key Accountabilities
- Under the direction of the Center Manager, oversees the daily performance of assigned staff and assists with managing the center as a business, assuming responsibility for operational and financial results including achieving targeted business metrics such as collection volumes, cost per liter, inventory days on
hand, scrap, and profitability.
- Ensures tasks in all areas of the business are being completed in accordance
with company policies and SOPs when the Manager on Duty.
Ensures the center operates in compliance with EU, FDA, state, local and company-specific regulations related to employee and donor safety, and unit suitability and release to customers.
May participate in performing tasks associated with deviation management, including documenting quality events, conducting investigations, and identifying and implementing center corrective and preventative actions. (CAPA).
Participates in local community outreach activities to enhance relationships with potential donor sources. Maximizes the success of advertising and marketing campaigns evidenced by new donor growth, donor conversion and donor retention.
Promotes the consistent delivery of a positive donor experience by maintaining a clean and safe environment, minimizing waiting time for donors, and delivering a positive phlebotomy and service experience.
Collaborates with the management team to ensure the center is appropriately staffed to effectively manage current and anticipated future donation volumes.
Develops weekly schedule for assigned area to ensure sufficient staff are present during peak donation times to minimize donor wait times.
Manages all equipment in the center to ensure adherence to the required maintenance schedule, and the timely removal and return to service of malfunctioning or otherwise non-compliant equipment.
Manages the center's stockroom to ensure proper organization, temperature monitoring, and stocking and replenishment of soft goods and medical consumables.
Manages plasma inventory to ensure the timely removal of unsuitable and reactive, and the resolution of slow-moving inventory and quarantined units.
May be required to respond to freezer alarms and resolves freezer excursions, minimizing risk to product quality.
Reviews test results and ensures proper action is taken for abnormal and reactive results including removal from inventory and contemporaneous computer entry, timely completion of Lookback Notification/BPDR, and donor counseling.
Oversees the plasma shipments and sample submissions process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of shipments.
Recruits, interviews, and oversees the onboarding of assigned staff.
Trains, develops, coaches and initiate disciplinary actions for assigned employees. Creates an open, positive, and supportive work environment to promote staff retention.
Participates in managing time and attendance, completes status changes, time off requests, terminations, and off-boarding in a timely manner.
Other job-related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience required in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a plasma or blood collection center, or other regulated environment.
Proven ability to lead teams to accomplish targeted performance expectations.
Previous experience managing profit and loss and other key- business metrics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
Physical and Mental Working Conditions
Frequently performs work while standing or walking.
May be required to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally required to travel overnight.
Required to communicate and interact with employees and donors.
Required to maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center related information.
May be required to work flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays. Occasionally required to answer after-hour alarms.
Frequently exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
