Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Ogallala, Nebraska. In this role, you will be integral to our finance department, handling a variety of tasks that ensure our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will span across areas such as journal entries, financial analysis, auditing, and tax preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries in general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial records.

• Conduct thorough financial analysis, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements, to provide insights into financial performance.

• Audit contracts meticulously to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found in records or reports to maintain accuracy.

• Prepare sales and use tax documents, adhering to relevant regulations and guidelines.

• Conduct inventory analysis to monitor waste and standard inventory cost.

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial reports to track financial performance and inform decision-making.

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets to aid in financial planning.

• Perform Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger Journal Entries, Month End Close preparation, Tax - Sales & Use, Fixed Assets analysis, Balance Sheet Reviews, and Profit & Loss analysis to perform job duties effectively.

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar Staff Accountant role.

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations.

• Knowledge of General Ledger and Journal Entries.

• Experience with Month End Close process.

• Understanding of Sales & Use Tax regulations.

• Familiarity with Fixed Assets management.

• Experience in conducting Balance Sheet Reviews.

• Proficiency in handling Profit and Loss Statements.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
