How You Will Make an Impact:
As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience in repairing and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles or machinery, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical issues and identify root causes of vehicle or machinery
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, machinery, and equipment, including engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Conduct thorough inspections of machines and vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and are operating
Replace worn or damaged parts, such as belts, filters, batteries, and spark
Use a variety of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
Document all maintenance and repair work, including parts used, labor hours, and recommendations for future
Collaborate with the shop team and other departments to meet deadlines and ensure all vehicles or machinery are operational and ready for use.
Stay up to date on industry trends, new repair techniques, and equipment to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and
Follow all safety procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to company safety standards.
Provide estimates for repair costs and time frames when needed, and communicate effectively with supervisors or customers regarding repair status.
Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience as a mechanic, with experience in vehicle, machinery, or equipment repair (2+ years preferred).
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery used in the repair
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to
Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently and
Good communication skills, with the ability to discuss issues and repairs with customers, supervisors, or team
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
Valid driver’s license (if required for test-driving vehicles or transporting equipment).
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in automotive repair, diesel mechanics, or a related field is a
