JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Maker to join our team. As a Cabinet Maker, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality cabinets and other wooden furniture pieces according to specifications. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of woodworking techniques, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to interpret and work from blueprints and design drawings. Responsibilities: Woodworking: Utilize various woodworking tools and machinery to cut, shape, and assemble wooden components for cabinets. Reading Blueprints: Interpret and work from design drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate and precise construction of cabinets. Material Selection: Choose appropriate wood materials based on the project requirements, ensuring quality and durability. Measuring and Cutting: Accurately measure and cut materials to the specified dimensions, using tools such as saws, routers, and drills & CNC equiptment. Joinery Techniques: Employ advanced joinery techniques, including but not limited to dovetail joints, mortise and tenon joints, and dowel joints, to create sturdy and well-crafted cabinets Quality Control: Conduct quality checks throughout the construction process to ensure the final product meets high standards and client expectations. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and team members. Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including designers and installers, to ensure seamless coordination and successful project completion. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and solve any issues that may arise during the construction process, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills. Verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications. Produce or assemble components of articles, such as store fixtures, office equipment, cabinets, or high-grade furniture. Measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure a tight fit and quality product. Set up or operate machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, or shapers, to cut, mold, or shape woodstock or wood substitutes. Establish the specifications of articles to be constructed or repaired, or plan the methods or operations for shaping or assembling parts, based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or oral or written instructions. Attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps. Reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing. Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools. Trim, sand, or scrape surfaces or joints to prepare articles for finishing. Match materials for color, grain, or texture, giving attention to knots or other features of the wood. Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines. Apply Masonite, formica, or vinyl surfacing materials. Program computers to operate machinery. Repair or alter wooden furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, paneling, or other pieces. Cut timber to the right size, and shape and trim parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications: Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or similar role in woodworking. Proficiency in using woodworking tools and machinery. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design drawings. Strong knowledge of different wood types and their characteristics. Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
