Job Overview:
The Credentialed Trainer is responsible for providing staff education on IT (Information Technology) applications to include Epic electronic health record software. This staff education will be delivered virtually and in-classroom. Credentialed Trainers provide customer support, answer customer hotlines, assist with development of training materials and escalate issues as needed. This position requires a commitment to work full time alongside training and other operational and IT professionals.
Qualifications:
Required:
Minimum: Associate degree with 2+ years of Epic-EHR training experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) required
Complete knowledge of office procedures required
Has trained 51-100 Epic classes
Preferred:
- Preference for knowledge of current hospital and outpatient clinical or administrative system workflows and processes
Certifications and Licenses Required:
Credentialed in at least 2 Epic applications is required.
Proficiency, Certification or Accreditation in at least one Epic application is required.
Applicant is expected to maintain certification as current by completing New Version Training (NVT), as applicable
Essential Functions:
The Credentialed Trainer is primarily responsible for classroom and virtual training of end users of the Epic and IT applications. In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Credentialed Trainer is responsible for the following:
Workflow Analysis and Curriculum Design and Development:
Assisting in the identification of end-users (role and headcount) requiring training on applicable Epic and IT applications
Participation in at least one IT application - research, curriculum development and implementation
Reviewing Epic s Training Wheels to gain an understanding of the lesson plan matrix development required
Reviewing and becoming well-versed in the E-Learning tools that will be available to end-users
Assist in reviewing and implementing an end-user curriculum, including facilitator s guides, playground practice exercises, participants manuals/workbooks, E-Learning modules, quick start guides, tip sheets and workflow bulletins, F1 functionality (Epic s context-sensitive help function)
Training Execution and End-User Support:
Delivering end-user training
Coordinate logistics associated with training delivery preparation activities such as copying and assembling printed materials, set-up, maintenance of training rooms, equipment preparation, post training, clean-up, etc.
Communicate changes and enhancements of the Epic electronic health record and IT applications to the end users.
Independently leads ongoing training and acts as the primary training support of the electronic health record and other IT applications.
At Go-Live, Credentialed Trainers will be:
Providing one-on-one or remedial training for end-users as needed
Attending go-live triage meetings to solicit and facilitate end-user feedback on system
Developing just-in-time tip sheets
Being flexible in terms of work schedule management and accessibility during training delivery and Go-Live
Providing go-live support for users on new applications, including functionality
Providing on-call support for application through go-live and post go-live
Job-Specific Competencies
Attend a formal training class specifically for Epic credentialed trainers and Train the Trainer classes as required.
Receive training on the courses (applications) that will be taught
Training will be 5-6 weeks (about 1 and a half months) to become a credentialed trainer
Complete a credentialing exam with a minimum score of 85%
Pass all end-user proficiency assessment with a minimum score of 80%
Give a formal panel presentation on the material you will be teaching
