Florida Department of Corrections Correctional Officer:MM:92:T3 in Ocala, Florida
Veterans Preference Multiple positions available. Hiring for Florida Women's Reception Center, Marion Correctional Institution and Lowell Correctional Institution,
No prior experience is necessary; all training is provided.
Summary: Correctional Officers are responsible for the supervision, care, custody, control, and physical restraint, when necessary, of inmates in a Correctional Institution or facility.
Requirements: At a minimum, successful applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Be at least 18years of age due to hazardous occupation (no maximum age requirements)
- Be a United States Citizen
- Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid driver's license for required travel
- Employer conducts drug screening, fingerprinting and background investigation which includesfelony convictions; misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence.
- Employer may have additional requirements
Following steps required to becoming a Correctional Officer (to be considered all steps must be completed). Step I: Complete the State of Florida Application Step 2:Submit a supplemental application which authorizes the agency to complete a background check (You will be texted and emailed a link within one business day after completing above steps.)
Work Schedule: Full time.
Salary: $22.00 per hour
