Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control, as the Inspection Technician, your core responsibilities are for the performance of inspection and acceptance of in-process and completed Landing Gear Assemblies and related components. You will also be expected to evaluate products for acceptance, initiate rejection process where required, complete paperwork and system records for traceability and shipment of product. As business needs dictate, this includes responsibility for the processing of incoming parts and assemblies for warranty purposes, and final inspection and signatory for spares shipments as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform inspection & acceptance of in-process and completed Landing Gear Assemblies and related components, following Goodrich quality procedures and specific instructions
Evaluate products for acceptance criteria and initiate rejection process where required
Complete diverse paperwork and systems records for traceability and movement of products; perform product and/or process audits
Generate First Article Inspections (FAI's) as necessary as per AS9102 requirements
Perform Root Cause Corective Action using latest CI tools
Interface with SQA and Procurement to resolve issues related to product
Perform work in compliance with the safety requirements.
Apply 5S workplace organization principals to support Continuous Improvement (CI)
Will be required to work independently and with minimal supervision to complete tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned
Note 1: the qualified applicant will be required after adequate training and experience, to certify & buy-off products or assembly units for shipments
Note 2: you must be able to participate in the AOG (Aircraft On Ground) on-call rotation schedule.
Basic Qualifications:
College diploma in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent and related work experience
A minimum 3 year of quality inspection experience in a similar manufacturing environment; aerospace experience preferred.
Familiarity with Transport Canada regulations would be considered a significant asset
Completion of relevant quality control certifications or willingness to improve through continuous education & training is required
Demonstrated experience in reading 2D drawings and 3D Catia models, and understanding of geometric dimensional tolerance (GD&T)
Working experience of Catia, InspectionXpert, Discus and NetInspect.
Skilled and experienced in using a variety of measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers & bore gauges
The successful candidate must be willing and able to potentially travel with little or no notice as required to support the business internationally
Strong PC skills; demonstrated experience with database software applications (SAP knowledge is an asset)
strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support the team and customer relations
Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment & under tight deadline schedules
Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
