Robyn Rosemon with Robert Half is on the lookout for an Assistant Controller. This role involves ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reports, overseeing the analysis and summary of the company’s financial results, and providing management with effective measurement tools.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure strict adherence to US GAAP, company policies, procedures, and sound financial management practices during the preparation of financial information

• Stay updated on current financial reporting issues

• Oversee Month-End close reporting, including the preparation or review of monthly closing entries and reconciliation, as well as cost accounting

• Support in the documentation and monitoring of accounting processes and internal controls

• Develop and execute training programs for all departmental employees, including cross-training of positions

• Make suggestions for increasing efficiency within the department

• Assist other users with troubleshooting and problem resolutions

• Maintain Fixed Asset accounting records and liaise with managers to monitor progress on capital projects

• Collaborate with key managers on Capex Planning and Management

• Demonstrate an attitude of teamwork, working collaboratively with peers to identify positive solutions to problems or issues

• Show care and responsibility for the resources provided and contribute towards our efforts for social responsibility and being environmentally conscious

• Act with integrity, honesty, and fairness, working towards achieving personal achievement rather than public attention.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the wine industry

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing and Billing Functions is required

• Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles is a must

• Ability to handle Month End Close processes efficiently

• Expertise in Cost Accounting and Standard Cost Accounting is necessary

• Experience in System Implementation and Continuous Process Improvement is desirable

• Familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting is expected

• Experience in performing Closing Entries is required

• Strong understanding of Internal Control mechanisms is necessary
