JOB POSITIONS: TWENTY-EIGHT (28) TEMPORARY FULL-TIME COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVERS, CLASS A, OR EQUIVALENT.
JOB OPPORTUNITY: AVAILABLE FROM START DATE 04/01/2025 THROUGH END DATE 11/30/2025 DURING THE SOUTHEAST AND MIDWEST U.S. WATERMELON AND PUMPKIN HARVEST SEASON. DRIVERS WILL GENERALLY BE TRANSPORTING CARDBOARD PACKAGING FROM THE WORKSITE STORAGE FACILITY TO FARMS LOCATED THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHEAST AND MIDWEST U.S. IN ORDER FOR FARMERS TO PACKAGE THEIR CROP DIRECTLY ON THE FARM.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: THIS POSITION REQUIRES NO MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL AND NO EXPERIENCE. A COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVERS WITH A VALID COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE, CLASS A, OR EQUIVALENT, IS REQUIRED. NO ON THE JOB TRAINING IS REQUIRED OR PROVIDED.
PAYROLL INFORMATION: A SINGLE WORKWEEK WILL BE USED AS THE STANDARD FOR COMPUTING WAGES DUE.
WEEKLY WAGE PAID EACH WEEK IS BASED ON THE GREATER OF $24.41 PER HOUR BASIS OR ON A PERCENT-OF-REVENUE PER LOAD BASIS. AN HOURLY OVERTIME RATE IS NOT APPLICABLE PER FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT EXEMPTION, SECTION 13(B)(1),
AS STATED IN DEPARTMENT OF LABOR, WAGE AND HOUR DIVISIONS FACT SHEET #19, THE MOTOR CARRIER EXEMPTION. DRIVERS ARE PAID WEEKLY WAGES EACH FRIDAY BASED ON DRIVERS SUBMISSION OF HIS OR HER PREVIOUS WEEKS WORK. DRIVERS COMPLETED ORIGINAL WEEKLY PAPERWORK MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE DRIVER TO THE EMPLOYER EACH FRIDAY IN ORDER TO RECEIVE WAGES THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY. DIRECT DEPOSIT IS AVAILABLE.
WORK GUARANTEE: THE EMPLOYER GUARANTEES TO OFFER WORK FOR A NUMBER OF HOURS EQUAL TO AT LEAST THREE-FOURTHS (3/4) OF TOTAL HOURS CONSISTENT WITH THE JOB ORDER DURING EACH TWELVE (12) WEEK PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT STARTING AFTER THE DRIVERS ARRIVAL ON THE FIRST WORK DATE OF EMPLOYMENT AND ENDING ON THE DRIVERS TERMINATION DATE OF EMPLOYMENT UNLESS DRIVER VOLUNTARILY ABANDONS EMPLOYMENT PRIOR TO CONTRACTS END DATE.
POST-HIRE AND POST-TERMINATION TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENTS: FOR DRIVERS HIRED OUTSIDE REASONABLE COMMUTING DISTANCES TO WORKSITE, WHETHER IN THE U.S. OR ABROAD, TO THE PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT, THE EMPLOYER WILL PAY IN ADVANCE, OR REIMBURSE, BY COMPANY CHECK, THE DRIVER ON THE FIRST PAYCHECK DATE FOR THE FIRST WORK WEEK OF EMPLOYMENT, THE MOST ECONOMICAL AND REASONABLE INBOUND TRANSPORTATION AND LODGING EXPENSES; THE INBOUND DAILY SUBSISTENCE EXPENSES ($15.88 PER DAY WITH MAXIMUM $59.00 PER DAY WITH DOCUMENTATION OF ACTUAL EXPENSE, OR THE CURRENT AMOUNTS PER REGULATIONS); THE CONSULATE VISA, VISA PROCESSING, BORDER CROSSING AND OTHER RELATED FEES, INCLUDING THOSE MANDATED BY THE GOVERNMENT AND INCURRED BY THE EMPLOYEE, EXCLUDING PASSPORT EXPENSES; AND OTHER RELATED INBOUND EXPENSES PRIMARILY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE EMPLOYEE. THE EMPLOYER WILL PROVIDE OR PAY FOR THE WORKERS COST OF RETURN TRANSPORTATION AND DAILY SUBSISTENCE FROM THE PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT TO THE PLACE FROM WHICH THE WORKER, DISREGARDING INTERVENING EMPLOYMNENT, DEPARTED TO WORK FOR THE EMPLOYER, IF THE WORKER COMPLETES THE CERTIFIED PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT (50%) OR IS DISMESSED FROM EMPLOYMENT FOR ANY REASON BY THE EMPLOYER BEFORE THE END OF THE PERIOD, CONSISTENT WITH 655.20(J)(1)(II).
EMPLOYEE RESIDENCY DURING PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT:
EACH DRIVER IS ASSIGNED A TRACTOR-TRUCK INCLUDING A SLEEPER BERTH WITH BED, REFRIGERATOR AND OTHER AMENITIES AND HAS BEEN DEEMED BY THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AS ADEQUATE SLEEPING FACILITIES (49 CFR 393.76). D IVERS WILL GENERALLY RETURN TO THE WORKSITE EVERY 1-2 DAYS. EMPLOYER WORKSITE AMENITIES INCLUDE, AT NO COST
TO THE DRIVER, OVERNIGHT PARKING AND BATHROOM FACILITIES. TYPICALLY, DRIVERS WILL PARK AT WORKSITES OVERNIGHT PARKING OR OTHER ROAD-SIDE AVAILABLE PARKING (EXAMPLE: MOTEL, TRUCK STOP, REST AREA) AND SLEEP IN THEIR TRACTOR-TRUCK SLEEPER BERTH BED AND UTILIZE ROADSIDE RETAIL AMENITIES (EXAMPLE: FOOD, LAUNDRY, BATH) AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE, AS IS COMMON IN THE INDUSTRY.
ALTHOUGHT IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EMPLOYER TO PROVIDE EMPLOYER-PAID
RESIDENCY FOR TEMPORARY H-2B EMPLOYEES DURING EMPLOYMENT, AND WHILE DRIVERS HAVE THE OPTION OF OBTAINING RESIDENCY NEAR THE WORKSITE LOCATION AT THE DRIVERS OWN EXPENSE AND WILL HAVE EMPLOYER-PROVIDED TRACTOR-TRUCK FOR DAILY TRANSPORATION TO AND FROM THE WORKSITE AND FOR REASONABLE ACCESS TO RETAIL SHOPS AND PERSONAL ACTIVITIES, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE DRIVER, DUE TO THE DEFINED TEMPORARY NATURE OF THIS EMPLOYMENT COUPLED WITH THE UNIQUENESS OF THIS OCCUPATION, DRIVERS WILL BE ALLOWED CONTINUOUS RESIDENCY WITHIN THEIR ASSIGNED SLEEPER-TRACTOR-TRUCK WITH REASONABLE FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT IN-LIEU OF OBTAINING RESIDENCY NEAR THE WORKSITE AT THE DRIVERS OWN EXPENSE, BUT COMPENSIBLE ON-DUTY HOURS ARE DEFINED WITHIN THE FOLLOWING

*JOB DUTIES: ALL DUTIES ARE COMMON TO COMMERCIAL TRUCK DRIVERS, INCLUDING DRIVING TRACTOR-TRAILER FROM PRODUCT PICKUP LOCATIONS TO DELIVERY LOCATIONS TIMELY AND SAFELY ON PUBLIC AND INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS WHILE OBEYING ALL APPLICABLE LAWS AND REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLES; MANEUVER TRACTOR-TRAILER INTO LOADING AND UNLOADING POSITIONS; CONTACT THE EMPLOYER IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE LOADING OR UNLOADING OF EACH ORDER; MOVE LOADED AND UNLOADED TRAILERS INTRA-YARD; VERIFY SECURE, SAFE AND PROPER CARE OF THE TRACTOR-TRAILER AND OF THE LOADED PRODUCT TO INCLUDE ANY PRODUCT CARE INSTRUCTIONS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED PER EMPLOYERS VERBAL INSTRUCTION TO THE DRIVER AS WELL AS THE ORDERS WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS LOCATED ON ITS BILL OF LADEN PAPERWORK AND DRIVER MUST CONTACT EMPLOYER IMMEDIATELY REGARDING ANY QUESTIONS OF PRODUCT CARE. IN ADDITION, DUTIES INCLUDE COMPLETING AND DOCUMENTING PRE-TRIP AND POST-TRIP SAFETY INSPECTIONS ON TRACTOR-TRAILER AS REQUIRED BY LAW (49 CFR 396.11); PERFORM MINOR MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY DUTIES FOR THE TRACTOR-TRAILER COMMON TO COMMERCIAL TRACTOR-TRAILER TRUCK DRIVERS (EXAMPLE: ADD FLUIDS, CHANGE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, ETC.); ACCURATELY COMPLETE ALL EMPLOYER PROVIDED DRIVER AND TRACTOR-TRAILER WEEKLY ACTIVITY PAPERWORK; CONTINUOUS AND ACCURATE ENTRIES IN THE ELECTRONIC LOGGING DEVICE (ELD) AS REQUIRED BY LAW (SECTION 32301(B) OF THE COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY ENHANCEMENT ACT, ENACTED AS PART OF THE MAP-21 ACT) AS WELL AS MAINTAIN A COMMERICAL DRIVER DAILY PAPER LOGBOOK; READ AND INTERPRET MAPS TO DETERMINE VEHICLE ROUTES AND USE GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEMS (GPS) TO SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATE TO A SPECIFIC LOCATION; UPLOADING REQUIRED DOCUMENTS DAILY VIA EMPLOYER PROVIDED ELECTRONIC APP(S); ALL OTHER DUTIES DIRECTED BY THE EMPLOY *
