Department/Business Unit: Supervisor- Estimating Vice President of Sales
Purpose of Job (how it contributes to departments objectives): Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, bid cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
Responsibilities (list 5 to 8 major functions and accountabilities): Review upcoming estimating opportunities. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates for guiderail and bridge rail and Sign projects used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Review preliminary plans and specifications, review estimates, and fax out estimates. Review material costs from manufacturing, input new material and update as needed. Prepare contracts and associated forms, become familiar with customer requirements. Coordinate contracts and sales with construction department. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications (list the minimum education, formal training, skills, and experience required): Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. proficient with windows format and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Heavy Bid programs. Knowledge of NYSDOT standards and Specifications for Elderlee, Inc. work related items, highway guide railing, bridge railing, traffic signs, guide signs, sign structure foundations, and overhead signs and structures.
