MaineGeneral Health Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), Per Diem in Oakland, Maine

Job Description:

Your Role:As a Per Diem Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide exceptional care to patients, ensuring they meet their goals and regain functional mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement treatment plans developed by supervising therapists, utilizing appropriate modalities and techniques.

  • Monitor patients' responses to therapy and regularly communicate progress or potential goal revisions to the Physical Therapist.

  • Document services provided and patients’ responses to treatment accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Educate patients and families/caregivers about exercises, adaptive equipment, and community support resources.

  • Assist with patient discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.

What You Bring:

  • Maine State Physical Therapy Assistant licensure required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with therapists, patients, and families.

  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule and work as part of a team
