About the Role:
The Director of Transportation will manage the programs, budgets, and overall operations of Garrett Transit Service, a demand/response system providing public and medical transportation for Garrett County. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising department staff and managing the vehicle fleet.
- Overseeing passenger scheduling and vehicle dispatch.
- Providing direct guidance on departmental objectives and aligning them with the agencys strategic plan.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with local, state, and federal funding sources.
- Writing grant applications and reports for funding sources.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree plus 5 years of experience in a related field.
Experience in program/project management.
Demonstrated ability to manage staff.
Knowledge of transit operations is preferred.
