Position Overview:

This position will support the San Francisco Bay Area.

Provides support in radiological instrument calibration and operation, quality assurance of department radiation detection instrumentation; radiological safety; ordering, receipt, storage, and handling of radioactive materials. Conducts surveys and supports survey report generation. Maintains records of patient skin overexposures.

Job Description :

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Graduate from an accredited Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Technologist program

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

2 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

High aptitude in math and physics.

Expertise in operating various types of equipment, including gamma cameras/computers, dose calibrators, uptake probe/well counter and survey meters.

Ability to work with computers, complex radiation detection equipment, word processors, spreadsheets, and filing systems is necessary.

Knowledgeable in the theory of operation of survey meters.

Communication skills and basic knowledge of personal computers.

Thorough knowledge of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Technology, radiation safety and detection modalities.

Must be familiar with US Department of Transportation regulations regarding shipping and receiving radioactive materials.

Pay Range is $86.77 to $138.83 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
