Regions Hospital Paramedic in Oakdale, Minnesota
Regions Hospital is hiring a Community Paramedic. As a Community Paramedic you will work alongside EMS and primary care physicians in both the clinic and hospital setting to identify patients who could benefit from community paramedic services. This paramedic position is part of the Community Paramedicine and Hospital@Home department. The HealthPartners Hospital@Home is a program designed to treat acutely ill patients in their home in lieu of emergency room care or hospitalization. The program can shorten the length of hospital stays and is staffed by hospitalist physicians, RNs, and community paramedics. The community paramedic will visit patients in their homes to perform assessments, procedures, education and provide patients with referral to additional resources. The community paramedic will work under the medical direction of the EMS physician and carry out care plans approved by the EMS physician in partnership with the patient's primary care physician. This position will require travel within the Twin Cities metro area. Performs other duties as assigned. Work schedule: FTE: .3 (12 hrs. weekly), Variable, 10-hour shifts, includes days, some weekends and evenings Required Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: Three years of clinical experience in an advanced life support ambulance or emergency care setting Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Current Minnesota EMS Regulatory Board certification as a Paramedic Minnesota EMS Regulator Board certification as a Community Paramedic is required to obtain within 2 years of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Completion of Minnesota Community Paramedic education program Experience: Work experience as a community paramedic strongly preferred Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Current Minnesota EMS Regulator Board certification as a Community Paramedic.
