Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois

Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant in OAKBROOK TERRACE, Illinois, for a short-term contract. The individual will be a key player in the financial operations of our organization, which includes inventory management, cash flow forecasting, treasury management, and the preparation of financial statements using QuickBooks.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, payroll, utilities, and budgeting.

• Conduct cash flow forecasting and manage treasury operations.

• Manage company inventory using appropriate software.

• Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.

• Interface with external accounting firm for data preparation for external tax preparation.

• Document and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Prepare customer invoices based on analyzed financial information.

• Monitor and analyze sales commissions, providing regular reports.

• Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.

• Provide advisory support by understanding day-to-day accounting operations. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required.

• Strong understanding and experience in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries is essential.

• Expertise in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and data management.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is a must.

• Knowledge and use of QuickBooks for accounting tasks is necessary.

• Should have experience in Inventory Analysis and Inventory Accounting.

• Must possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is necessary.

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.

• Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
