Job Title: E ndoscopy / Gastroenterologist technician

Description:

• Prepare room for endoscopy procedures.

• Communicate with physicians regarding patient vitals.

• Take and monitor patient vital signs, perform data entry, and maintain a sterile environment.

• Escort patients and families, assisting with check-in as needed.

• Safely deliver endoscopes to and from the procedure room.

• Collect, label, and send specimens with the correct paperwork from the procedure room.

• Assist the scope team with the removal of cleaned scopes as needed.

• Reprocess and clean equipment.

• Sterilize equipment after procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Completion of a medical assistant, endoscopy technician, or surgical technician training program required.

• Experience working in a Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine clinic (adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates).

• At least one year of patient care or equipment maintenance experience.

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care, maintain clinical competency, and meet patient population needs within the clinic.
