Skookum is seeking a focused and helpful General Maintenance Worker I with a can-do attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry (includes siding), plumbing, masonry, grouting ceramic tile floors/walls, and minor electrical work. Replacing glass in windows and doors. Replacing/repairing door hardware. Clearing roof drains and gutters. Responsible for using plaster or compound to patch holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Touch up painting and caulking. Responsible for minor repairs on sinks, water coolers, toilets, concrete floors, steps, stoops, decks, and sidewalks. Caulking plumbing fixtures. Communicates and interacts directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs. Responds to customer inquiries and complaints. Ensures completed work meets quality control standards. Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors. Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates. Follows all Safety Procedures and Policies. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Qualifications: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, general maintenance/construction work, and/or training with aptitude to perform the work. Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred. Physical Requirements: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
