Robert Half Finance Manager in Oak Brook, Illinois

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Finance Manager in Oak Brook, Illinois. This role is within the government sector, specifically dealing with municipal finances. As our Finance Manager, you will be tasked with managing budget processes, financial reporting, and government program coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and management of the 2025 budget package for board presentation

• Handle utility billing, disbursements, and licensing accurately and efficiently

• Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy

• Manage and report on municipal finances and government programs

• Coordinate and oversee government reporting processes

• Leverage skills in budgeting and forecasting to ensure financial stability

• Maintain comprehensive records of financial transactions

• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards

• Deliver financial reports detailing the sanitary district's financial status

• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of finance.

• Must possess excellent knowledge of budget processes and annual budget preparation.

• Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting is required.

• Experience with government programs and governmental accounting is necessary.

• Familiarity with municipalities and their financial structures is expected.

• Must be skilled in financial reporting and able to present complex information in an understandable format.

• A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.

• Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in the use of financial software and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.

• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically are required.

• Must have a high degree of professional integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
