Robert Half Content Strategist (Classifier, Tag and Taxonomy) in Oak Brook, Illinois
Description
Our Healthcare Nonprofit is looking for a Content Strategist to support them 37.5hr/wk for 8-10 weeks, remote. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop a taxonomy and tagging system aligned with industry terminology (medical + radiology).
Responsibilities:
Develop and Deliver an initial content strategy, framework. This framework consists of taxonomy, tagging, labeling, classification. This includes hierarchies, categorization, and controlled vocabularies to streamline and enhance the discoverability, and extraction of relevant medical literature content. Annotations quality rating context and background information are some elements to be also considered as a part of tagging.
Apply the above strategy to the 2 cases specifically to Liver Lesions/Tumors and Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH) content; to take the strategy for a dry run.
Validate and refine the strategy based on “dry run” results.
Propose gaps in content to enhance content discoverability and content extraction.
Evaluate (first pass) and recommend tools and technologies that support the strategy from above, including auto-classification, auto-tagging . A high-level solution architecture and technology approach for implementing the above strategy.
Ensure chosen technologies can implement the strategy from above, integrate with existing relevant systems and scale effectively.
Recommend best practices on performance of the system; recommend taxonomy principles and standards.
Deliver High-level roadmap for implementation [Resources, months, skills/DNA].
Work closely with Director to align 3 stakeholder leaders [Publications, Education and IT] to ensure the strategy aligns with business needs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Library Science[preferred], Information Science, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s preferred.
5-8 years of recent experience in content classification, taxonomy design, tagging, and content strategy including experience with content classification technology and tools.
Reasonably good familiarity with medical terminology, especially in medical imaging or healthcare.
Proven experience developing and implementing taxonomy and tagging frameworks.
Hands-on experience with content management systems (CMS), data annotation tools, and taxonomy management software.
Ability to work cross-functionally with teams and communicate complex ideas effectively.
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with healthcare-related content, particularly in imaging or diagnostics.
Knowledge of AI-driven content classification tools and automation technologies.
Familiarity with controlled vocabularies, metadata standards, and SEO best practices.
