Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a machine operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting production equipment using appropriate tools and procedures. Your role involves maintaining the machines in good condition, communicating malfunctions, and understanding production requirements and schedules. You will also be expected to perform to machine goals, cross-train on various job functions within the production facility, work in a team environment, and direct, assist, and train helpers. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust production equipment using appropriate tools and procedures.

• Keep machines operating according to procedures and in good condition.

• Communicate machine malfunctions with the Team Lead or Maintenance.

• Understand production requirements and schedules with guidance.

• Perform to machine goals.

• Cross-train on various job functions within the production facility.

• Work effectively in a team environment.

• Direct, assist, and train helpers to perform necessary functions.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Machine operation

• Machine setup and changeovers

• Troubleshooting

• Mechanical aptitude

• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to problem-solve

• Lifting up to 50 lbs

• Standing for 8 or more hours per day

• Walking for 4-6 hours per day

• Squatting, bending, flexing, and extending both arms

• Grasping with both hands for up to 8 hours per day

• Pushing carts of finished product and tools up to 75 lbs

• Pulling tools and finished product up to 50 lbs

Work Environment

Our manufacturing facility spans 74,000 sq. ft. with approximately 37 employees. It is a non-climate controlled environment that can be loud and hot, where you will work closely with others. Equipment and machinery include Punch Press, Brake Press, Turret Press, Packaging Equipment and Conveyors, Roll Forming Machines, Slitters, Lathe machines, End Mill Machines, Drill Press, and Surface Grinders.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of O Fallon, Missouri.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
