News Corp Australia Senior Branded Content Editor in NSW, Australia
What’s the role?
Are you a creative thinker who can produce best-in-class content that excites brands and customers? An experienced editor and innovator who dreams of working with Australia’s leading brands and flexing your skills in a dynamic business?
Medium Rare, Australia’s leading content marketing agency, is looking for a Senior Branded Content Editor to ideate and create high-quality commercial content for Qantas, its Frequent Flyer partners and high-value advertisers.
You’ll be joining a fast-growing business with a flexible working environment. This is a hybrid role, based in our Sydney office but with the opportunity to work part of your week remotely.
You’ll work closely with sales and account service, design and editorial teams to develop innovative content for digital publishing platforms, social media, video and print channels.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the ideation and production of high-quality digital copy, social media assets, video concepts and scripts, as well as print magazine executions, overseeing the process from concept through to delivery.
Working predominantly on Qantas magazine, Qantas Travel Insider and Qantas social channels, you’ll edit and commission commercial content for a range of partners and advertisers. Knowledge of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program would be very beneficial.
Manage the workflow of branded content production, balancing multiple concurrent projects and managing freelance resources.
Work closely with clients to agree on concepts, execute them within editorial guidelines and liaise on revisions. An exceptional eye for detail is essential.
Use social media channels and email newsletters to amplify content – maximising engagement but also driving action.
Ideate, research and edit across a broad range of topics, including travel, business, food and wine, style, homes and technology, and keep a close eye on trends in these areas.
Who are you?
At least five years’ experience as a features editor or content manager at a media publisher, agency or brand. We need someone with skills to tell a story across all channels, so solid experience in print, digital and social content is essential.
High-level organisational skills and demonstrated experience juggling multiple concurrent projects autonomously. You work to deadlines, while always maintaining an eye for detail and quality.
High-level commissioning and copy editing skills, as well as the ability to manage freelance writers within a budget.
A strong understanding of revenue generation in the branded content space. You have experience creating content campaign proposals and presenting these in client meetings.
Excellent communication skills to work with both sales and creative teams, as well as driving positive and productive conversations with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to think visually and direct visual assets, including social content, videos and ad creative.
Up-to-date knowledge of all social media platforms, best practices and specifications. You know what will perform best on Instagram Stories vs Reels vs Tiktok, how to supercharge click-throughs and make sure content is optimised to perform on each platform.
You’re an innovator with a love of learning. You’re always looking for new ways to wow clients and drive results.
Knowledge of SEO research and writing is advantageous.
