ITC Holdings Supv, Mktg & Internal Comm in Novi, Michigan

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees the development and implementation of internal and marketing communications to support ITC’s business objectives. Supervises development and implementation of strategies, messages and plans providing internal alignment among employees, developing and maintaining various internal and marketing communications deliverables. Provides counsel and support to ITC executives to further their internal communications priorities and positioning. Oversees development and ongoing maintenance of The Station, the company’s employee intranet.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with, and provides strategic counsel to, ITC departments and the leadership team, as it relates to internal communications, including development of change management plans.

  • Leads the development and implementation of internal communications plans and tactics targeted at ensuring internal alignment among employees with corporate vision and messages.

  • Responsible for the development and administration of content for a variety of internal media, including intranet, videos, emails, digital signage, meetings and events in support of employee engagement.

  • Responsible for development and oversight of the company's editorial calendar of announcements, news stories and events.

  • Oversees, contributes and edits content for the company's intranet, enhancing site functionality and ensuring the site is always up to date.

  • Leads the execution of all-employee meetings including coordination of presentation materials and logistics (including webcasting, surveys, attendance, recording and dissemination of materials as appropriate).

  • Measures and evaluates employee communication deliverables; identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and/or incorporation of new technology and processes to streamline efforts and increase value to the organization.

  • Oversees development of communications materials (brochures, advertising, fact sheets, conference collateral material, presentations, website content, exhibits, graphics, photography) in support of corporate objectives.

  • Monitors and advises proper use of the company logo and brand identity elements in materials, advertisements and presentations.

  • Provides support for company events including ground breaking ceremonies and various social functions; includes coordinating appropriate vendors, venue logistics, invitations, announcements, supporting collateral materials.

  • Coaches, mentors, trains, develops and motivates staff; assigns, reviews and appraises work.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, communications, journalism or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in communications; focus in internal and employee communications with experience in writing feature stories preferred.

  • Experience in a leadership role (supervising people, processes or projects).

  • Experience with digital media communication tactics.

  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, editing, presentation and professional communication skills.

  • Ability to professionally and effectively manage and prioritize time while handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to maintain composure and exhibit professionalism while contending with tense situations.

  • Ability to take strategic direction and execute area goals with minimal supervision; encourages a collaborative team environment.

  • Attention to detail and focus on quality delivery.

  • Deadline oriented and organized.

  • Superior analytical and organizational skills with a focus on synthesizing information, using sound judgment, formulating conclusions and articulating recommendations that advance corporate goals.

  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team leader, or independently depending on situation.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs and proficiency or willingness to learn online content management systems and intranet programs.

  • Utility industry experience preferred.
