Senior Lab Analyst (GCMS)

Kelly Science and Clinical is currently recruiting for a qualified, full-time, contract-to-hire Sr GCMS Lab Analyst in the Novi, Michigan area for one of our clients. The need to fill this role is immediate.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine and complex sample preparation

  • Simple instrument maintenance once fully trained

  • Data Entry and Data Review

  • Instrument/analytical problem solving and process improvement

  • QA investigations with no assistance

  • Working independently and giving insight on problem solving

  • Keeps abreast of current and new methods

  • Experience with ChemStation

  • Statistical analyses on quality control samples to assure compliance

  • Able to participate in both external and internal auditing procedures

  • Quality and quantity of work meets laboratory benchmarks

  • Follows safety requirements including the appropriate use of safety glasses, gloves, and lab coats

  • Company procedures and policies adhered to

  • On-going participation in laboratory skills inventory

  • Turnaround times achieved

  • Multi-task and prioritize workload

  • Performs method validation

  • Able to work with direct supervisor to resolve any corrective actions and offer resolutions to issues

Qualifications/Education/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemistry or science discipline with some applicable analytical experience required. Master’s or PhD degree in chemistry or related science discipline preferred.

  • Familiarity with several different types of instrumentation including: GCMS, HPLC, ICP, ICP-MS, etc. preferred. GCMS experience is top priority

  • Familiarity with a wide scope of OSHA, NIOSH, or ASTM methodologies and practices as well as with AIHA accreditation practices and ISO 17025 preferred.

  • 4+ years of experience in related area of testing preferred but possibly open to less years of experience, specifically with ChemStation and thermal desorption tubes

  • Ability to work well with different co-workers and in varied/changing situations

  • Able to assess problems and recommend solutions

  • Positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Detail oriented & record keeping skills

Pay : $21-26/hr

Hours: M-F, 9AM – 5PMEST
