Yanfeng International Automotive Technology US II LLC Continuous Improvement Manager in Novi, Michigan
- Analyze major Key Performance Indicator (KPI)'s in the plant, and define and achieve plant's continuous improvement (CI) target as set in Profit Plan.
- Implement World Class Maintenance (WCM) initiatives.
- Implement Kaizen projects.
- Develop and implement process and quality metrics.
- Update progress on quality and process areas including 4M audits, standard work improvements, material conveyance and processing, training model development, and up time and cycle time improvements.
- Assure the delivery of quality improvements and cost reductions produce significant savings and outstanding levels of customer satisfaction in plant.
- Prioritize, decide and accelerate execution of cost improving measures in plant.
- Improve operation's KPIs, e.g. scrap % of sales, OEE, CU, TEEP, labor cost as % of sales, etc. in line with plant targets.
- Ensure quick exchange of successful CI measures amongst plants in region by identifying, formalizing and disseminating them.
- Determine generally relevant CI measures of cost reducing potential as candidates for a BBP and submit BBP to Board.
- Develop and maintain CI tools and trainings.
- Identify gaps in Best Business Practices (BBPs)/YFIMS and then work with all levels of the plant in establishing and executing a strategy for improving them.
- Utilize Industrial Engineering expertise to assist with recruiting, training and supporting Black Belts and Lean Implementers.
- Coach CI team including department or plant staff, Lean Six Sigma Black Belts and other CI practitioners (Green Belts, Lean practitioners, KT practitioners) to apply correct tools and the DMAIC milestones for CI.
- Using standard tracking and reporting systems, prepare detailed plans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion and achievement of product/process quality and savings goals for the region.
- Connect projects and methodology to the strategies of the plant.
- Assist with ensuring adequate backlog of projects (project pipeline and roadmap) for future assignments to Black Belts and Lean Implementers.
- Schedule sufficient time to efficiently review projects metrics and progress on a minimum of a monthly basis using CI track methodology.
- Communicate and market goals, plans, processes and results.
- Expand projects across organizational boundaries, as appropriate.
- Share best practices with CI Managers of other locations.
