We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to oversee the technical and manufacturing engineering aspects of NPI builds, ensuring they are executed according to agreed schedules, costs, and quality standards. The role focuses on the introduction, improvement, and sustainability of manufacturing processes for hardware, electronic PCBs, and electronic components.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Utilize manufacturing data to identify and address issues proactively.
Drive systemic root cause analysis and corrective actions based on field and production data.
Identify, expedite, and escalate any quality or performance issues.
Report and maintain manufacturing engineering metrics, tracking performance against team KPIs and individual goals.
Participate in team activities with integrated program teams, engineering groups, and other cross-functional teams.
Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and manufacturability analyses and reporting.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to identify areas for improvement.
Evaluate and select equipment, tools, and materials for manufacturing processes.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
Train and support production staff on new processes and equipment.
Lead and participate in process FMEA development, design review, and risk mitigation processes.
Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and optimize processes.
Prepare for and conduct Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR) to ensure readiness for production.
Use Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs) to assess and communicate the maturity of manufacturing processes.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
Proven experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on new product introduction and manufacturing readiness review.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for hardware, electronic PCBs, and electronic components.
Wide-ranging understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical product design and operation.
Ability to lead or participate in process FMEA development, design review, and risk mitigation processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of Design for Excellence (DfX) principles.
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher).
Minimum of 2-5 years related experience in aerospace industry.
Experience in implementation and sustainment of AS9100D or ISO9001:2015 certification.

Small office setting with a family culture. The site has a mix of contractors and consultants, and everyone is treated equally. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.
