Sodus Rehab & Nursing Center CNA Paid Training in Norwich, New York

Educational Requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience Required: N/ A
Professional Licensure and Certification required: Must take the nurse aide certification exam within 10-days of successful completion of Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing's Nurse Aide Training Program.
Position Goals:
Nurse aide trainee once successfully complete the State approved nurse aide training program will offer a guaranteed position at Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Attend all classroom sessions and complete assigned coursework.
Participate in a minimum of 30 hour; of clinical training sessions at the nursing home to enhance both skills and knowledge.
Once both the clinical, written or oral examinations are successfully passed, you will obtain your nurse aide trainee certification and be listed in the New York State Nursing Home Nurse Aide Registry.
Essential Functions : (During directly super vised clinicals)
Assists in ambulation and transfers from and to bed, toilet, chair, stretcher.
Transport residents via wheelchair, stretcher, or ambulation to other parts of the home when necessary.
Assists or feeds resident(s) as indicated
Offers and removes bedpans and/or urinals.
Keeps incontinent resident clean and dry.
Gives bed baths, tub baths, and provide! skin care. Trims nails and assists with care of hair and oral hygiene. AM and PM care- washes and grooms’ residents.
Assists residents to dress and undress.
May prepare residents to receive Holy Communion.
Sorts, folds, and distributes personal clothing of residents.
Serves water and nourishment
Serves and collects trays.
Answers lights or bells. Answers inquires by residents or visitors.
Takes part of bowel and bladder rehabilitation program of the resident
Collects specimens and measures intake and output and keeps records of same.
Takes temperature, pulse, and respiration-may prepare ice packs or other resident care equipment under the direct supervision of the pr1gram Clinical Instructor.
Observes residents and notes physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetites, and reports changes or unusual findings to the Clinical instructor or Charge Nurse responsible for receiving complaints.
Before going off duty, completes all documentation assignments.
Take care of resident's personal clothing.
Changes linens and makes beds, replaces towels and wash cloths.
Cleans equipment (carbonized beds, stands, etc.) as directed by the nurse. Keeps the utility and service rooms in order.
Cleans the tub and shower after resident's use. Oversees general neatness of the unit.
When necessitated by accident and if a porter is not present, mops the floor when an accident has occurred.
Cares for the resident's unit (flowers, dresser, closet, bedside stand).
Maintains friendly working atmosphere.
Maintains professional attitude and ap 1earance.
Provides assistance with resident care, where applicable-always under the direct supervision of the Clinical Instructor.
Follows assigned safety, security, and f re procedures.
Reports and accidents or dangerous situations immediately.
Maintains confidentiality of organizational and resident information.
